This might just be the hardest year yet and I have a feeling I’m not alone on this one.
Quarter-life crisis? Is this some entering 30 type of sh*t?
Let’s get real… (again)
My external circumstances has never felt more in-lined with what I’m “suppose” to be doing than now and yet, I feel a nervous break down unraveling internally. This is not the one night nervous break down. It is a slow, emotionally painful kind of personal crisis. It tingles in my core and frankly scares the heck out of me, but….
Thankfully, I’m almost certain in every break down there is some gloriously awakened new person awaiting on the other side, hopefully decked out in over-sized Chanel shades 🙂 . I think we all know that to a certain extent and yet, why do we tend to get so wrapped up in our own personal telenovellas?
A friend of mine sent me a text reading: “sometimes you just need to break down to have all the pieces you need to build yourself up again.” I find this to be such a perfect message for me and so many others I know experiencing what I like to call, the “Quarter Life Crisis”.
Interestingly (or terribly cruel), I have never wanted to be so wild more than when my life is seemingly perfectly intact. I want to pre-game by myself, go out till 3am, let my flowers die before changing them, wear clothes my mother would not approve of, and then poof…. turn back into a waspy put-together little lady.
Lets go back a few years, I have always had a hustle that would put most over-achievers to shame, a killer school game, insanely focused attitude, highly organized, and slightly OCD. I am the girl who puts “dinner with friends” on her calendar right next to “organize sock drawer”. I’m a doer, a go-getter, a constantly moving jumping bean, which makes most people want to take a few steps away from me.
But let me tell you sweet readers, all of that put-togetherness has got to unleash at some point and the glorious year of 2016 is ushering it in. Look out, Crazytown is walking on by.
Almost every person I know is going through major changes this time of year. For most it’s been a dramatic and rocky 2016, but there is one constant in all of this…..we are and will remain fully supported by the Universe. Meaning, no matter the circumstance, this rocky road will not leave us stranded, alone, and afraid (insert overly used Pintrest quote here). Instead the road will lead to a beautiful castle of puppies, glitter, and green juice or also referred to as a pleasant new beginning.
So for now, I’m going to allow myself to be wild, free, and 16 again, if need be. And guess what, judgement remarks are certainly not welcomed nor tolerated.
I must say there is something quite freeing, liberating, and sexy about letting the crazy out. So I’ll put the kale juice down for a night and raise a glass of wine to myself and all by myself. Because a little solo pre-gamming while listening to 2Chainz and applying purple eye shadow never hurt anyone. BAM!
Cheers,
Victoria
