Eat Like a Health Nut while Traveling
This is one of my favorite topics as I find it incredibly hard to keep a plant-empowered organic lifestyle while in transit, especially during long-haul flights (and that goes for first class as well). Airlines stock their flights with mystery meat and food drenched in salt to help preserve their shelf life. Airports are usually filled with vendors selling atrocious processed “edible-like substances” for the price of a lobster dinner in Paris. Why sacrifice your health and make your flight more uncomfortable with food that will give you toes so swollen you’ll feel like you could scare your seatmate into moving?
One of the key ingredients to a successful healthy transit is time and organization. Admittedly, this can be very hard for me as I work a crazy amount of hours right before leaving for any trip. But trust me, if I can do it, you sure can. Just get organized, make a list, and carve out some time dedicated to preparing your meals. You’ll thank yourself when you get to happily say “No, thank you” when the flight attendant places a newly microwaved mystery meat dinner in front of you.

Got to love the orange tan while waiting to board our Bahamas flight..yikes!
Snack Attack
You can always buy premade nut mixes and raw snacks, but I truly enjoy preparing my own as it gives me the flexibility to put all the stuff I love and ensures everything I am eating is organic and beneficial. I worship mulberries and goji berries. They are great superfoods with high doses of natural antioxidants. A little health fix while flying? Why not?
Your In-Flight Menu
I put together a menu to get you started. Some of these recipes are inspired by some of my all-time favorite wellness goddesses with a Modern Monk twist. Remember, make a list, check it twice, and make time to prepare your meals. Your body will thank you with a radiating glow upon your arrival.

This flight was all about testing fears. You know it’s going to be an interesting ride when the flight attendant/captain hands out cotton to stuff our ears.
